Cosplay, oversexualised?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else think that cosplay has gone too far when it comes to sexualising tv and gaming characters?

It hasn't gone far enough.

You can't really say that 'cosplay' has gone too far. You could make the case that certain individuals go too far with it, but cosplay as a whole can't go too far.

Regardless, I don't think it's any different now than it ever has been. Some people sexualise things. Who cares?

Naaah, its a persons own interpretation of it, the only time I find it weird is if the character being cosplayed is underage and they've gone out of their way to sexualize it, but that's just me who isn't a creep. As long as no one is getting hurt or harassed it isn't that big of a deal.

What Leon said. Having gone to a couple of anime conventions, I have to say that most people who dress up are not really sexualizing their characters more than they are portrayed in their respective shows/games.

Except for sexy Skull Kid. That was a damn fine costume, and she rocked it.

It's gone "too far" can it go any further? I don't see the ordeal as long as nobody gets hurt, who cares?

it's not so much cosplay, but anime is definitely oversexualized

and some people in day to day life show a bit of skin anyway, no difference aside from a wig
